Advanced Reflexology Treatment
Reflexology is a treatment for activating the healing powers of the body.
It is well known that the early Egyptians, Chinese and Japanese, (to name just a few) worked on feet to improve and promote good health.
In the early 20c Dr. W Fitzgerald argued that parts of the body correspond to other parts, for example feet, and so developed the modern Zone Theory. Eunice Jugham, a physiotherapist using Zone Therapy, noticed that the feet were the most responsive part of the body for this treatment and mapped the entire body on to them.
As one of the healing arts, Reflexology achieves great results when worked with dedication, patience, good intention and above all with loving care.
How does it work?
- Reflexology improves circulation. It is essential that blood flows freely throughout the body transporting oxygen and nutrients to all cells.
- Reflexology cleanses the body as it moves toxins and impurities through the lymphatic system and out of the body quickly and efficiently.
- Reflexology balances the whole system by keeping the body running harmoniously and perfectly in tune.
- Reflexology revitalises and energises the whole body and so plays a crucial part in our overall well-being. By relaxing and opening the energy pathways Reflexology revitalises and supplies the body with energy at all levels.
- Reflexology is also used as preventative care and in our modern society has become more important than ever. The strain on the body's immune system caused by our environment with its stress, additives and pollution to name just a few, plays a major part in our poor health. Only if the body is well balanced can it defend itself, maintain good spirit and ward off illness.
There are two different ways of administering Reflexology. Advanced treatment involves a slightly firmer approach to manipulating the feet and helps with more difficult areas. Universal treatment is a very light method of manipulation and involves both feet being worked on at the same time.
