The historical roots for this treatment can be traced back to the American Indians. This ancient and very therapeutic treatment has been handed down over civilisations from the Native American Hopi Indians.

The ear candles which consist of linen, beeswax and extracts of honey and herbs are hollow tubes based on the traditional formula used by ancient Shaman Healers.

Today this ancient treatment is used for the therapeutic purpose relating to head, ears, nose and throat problems. These candles not only have a physical function relating to the head, they also relax the mind and calm the thoughts.

As it is extremely relaxing the treatment has also an effect on the whole body.

The candles work very gently on a chimney principle. The pleasant warm smoke gently vibrates and the warm air generated gives a very pleasant massage effect to the ear drum. This in turn helps to balance the ear and sinuses and helps in softening ear wax, which than can be dispersed naturally.

To begin the treatment a consent form with additional questions regarding medical and surgical history will be completed.

The treatment starts with a candle held in place for a duration of 10 - 15 minutes ( or until burnt down to an indicated part on the candle) and then extinguished in a container of water. This procedure is repeated with the other ear.

A facial and ear massage is given afterwards to help alleviate congestion and stimulate the lymphatic system. This in turn will help with the expelling of toxins from the body.
